Since 2017, industry and the FCC have taken deliberate and aggressive action to mitigate the threat of illegal and unwanted robocalls. Both have worked in partnership to develop and implement the STIR/SHAKEN framework for caller ID authentication and the Commission took the unprecedented step to encourage nondiscriminatory robocall blocking using reasonable data analytics. When the TRACED Act was passed by Congress in the last days of 2019, it set in motion nearly two dozen additional rulemaking proceedings and reports that the FCC was compelled to act on well into 2021.
As the FCC reaches an inflection point on its requirements under the TRACED Act, join us for this workshop, which will revisit this flurry of regulatory activity and provide guidance on what additional steps industry and the FCC can take to fight the scourge of illegal robocalls and restore consumer confidence in voice networks.
